Purple Pinkie Day was Interact's November service project benefitting polio eradication for Rotary Foundation month. On Friday, November 20 (2) promotion of international understanding through (3) supporting the eradication of polio, two of which are on the presidential citation. On November 20 we had Interactors man tables during each lunch period and paint pinkies purple for a minimum donation of $0.50 (the approximate cost to administer the polio vaccine.) We also offered to take people's pictures in front of a poster with finger prints of those who had their pinkies painted.
Our goal was to raise enough money to administer 100 vaccines, but we raised more than twice that goal. We had wide participation from all grade levels and faculty.
