2015 - 2016Purple Pinkie Day
The Interact club organized a Purple Pinkie Day as the November Rotary Foundation service project. Purple Pinkie Day's purpose was to raise awareness and for polio vaccination and eradication. SCS students and faculty were asked to bring in a dollar on Friday, November 20 to have their pinkie painted purple to raise funds for polio vaccinations through the Rotary Foundation. By the end of Purple Pinkie Day, Interact had raise enough money to send the equivalent of over 100 vaccinations to children in the two countries in which polio is endemic. Winter Clothing Drive 2014 - 2015Bookharvest Book Drive
The Interact club ran a school-wide book drive asking the SCS community to donate any slightly worn books to Bookharvest, a local nonprofit that provides books to low-income families with young children to encourage early child development before and while children are in school. Walk for the Animals The Interact club participated in the Walk for the Animals, an annual fundraiser for the Animal Protection Society of Durham. Our team raised money in the school community and was the top youth team. |
