Wednesday, January 13 Meeting Recap
At the January 13 meeting we planned the next few meetings, decided on our January service projects, and made our goals for the third quarter.
Our January service project will take place on Wednesday, January 27, when we will have no meeting due to an early release day. Our service project will benefit Urban Ministries, and we will pack and decorate bagged lunches which are given out to people who come to Urban Ministries. We will both pack and deliver bags during school, and will therefore need permission slips for participants. We will bring in supplies for the next two weeks and get permission slips signed.
Additionally, we planned for renewed membership efforts as we open membership to 7th in the second semester. We will have information about Interact at this meeting and presentations about opportunities through Interact (like RYLA).
Each meeting for the next six weeks was decided with the following purposes:

Wednesday, December 2 Meeting Recap
At the December 2 meeting we planned our December service project. Given that the November service project was fundraising-based, we decided a different kind of project would be better. The December service project is a Winter Clothing Drive benefitting the Durham Rescue Mission. We are going to invite the school community to bring in their extra gloves, mittens, scarves, and other winter accessories which will be brought to the Durham Rescue Mission on the last day of school. Our emphasis will be on awareness of the project, so we will bring in lights to make into the shape of a tree, under which will be the donation box, in the front lobby of the school. We will set up the project during lunch next Monday because we have no more meetings until January.
Additionally, we are going to start membership efforts back up in the second semester by holding another membership meeting and opening membership to 7th grade.

*edit as of 10/23 - administration never replied to our proposal so the scrimmage has been pushed back, likely to the second semester
